Welcome to the world of Atomistix ToolKit (ATK) and NanoLanguage; a software tool and a scripting language providing you with leading-edge methods for first-principles electronic-structure and transport calculations.

If you want to get started with ATK and NanoLanguage right away, we encourage you to browse through the quick tour, which provides a selection of short and general NanoLanguage scripts. We suggest to run the example scripts and tailor them to your own systems and needs.

If you are new to ATK and NanoLanguage, you might benefit from reading the Introduction to ATK, which gives a more in-depth introduction to ATK and NanoLanguage. If you are an experienced ATK user, but still have little experience with the use of NanoLanguage, we encourage you to read the Introduction to NanoLanguage, which explains the fundamental concepts and advantages of NanoLanguage. The flexibility of NanoLanguage is much larger than that of just an input file format and enables users to customize calculations and analysis for high-throughput computations.

With this manual, we also provide a selection of tutorial examples. Among them, we included simple examples which will help you in getting started. In addition, once you feel comfortable with the basics of ATK and NanoLanguage, you can also find several more advanced tutorials that demonstrate the power and flexibility of both the software tools and the scripting language.
